END OF HORSE-DRAWN CARRIAGES
December 2019 marked the end of the horse-drawn carriage in Montreal in the name of animal welfare in the context of increasing car traffic and heat. Horse-drawn carriages are mostly popular with tourists visiting Old Montreal during the summer. Carriage drivers and horse and carriage owners lost their battle to maintain their livelihood. These photos document a now bygone era in my hometown.
