SUBURBAN LAVENDER
In November 2014, I visited small towns on the Central Coast of New South Wales in Australia and saw, for the first time, jacarandas in bloom. These big lavender trees, which are meant to beautiful suburbia, seemed surreal alongside mundane suburban artefacts.
